Welcome to the Dermatology Library online catalog!
This catalog contains books, journals and visual media available in the library.
Journal records also include links to the online versions in full text or abstract, when available. If you have an OHSU library card, you can access the full text
versions of most of our print journals through the main library website. Everyone can view abstracts of these journals. New online journals through the OHSU
Library and Open Access websites are being continually added to this catalog. To see a list of all journals, do an Expert search on the call number W 1? (? is the truncation mark).
Getting Started
The tabs at the top of the page, as well as the links above the catalog record let you to navigate within the catalog without using your browser's back button.
The SEARCH tab takes you to the page where you can find items by keyword, title, author, or subject. Use whole words or truncate them with a question mark; for example, immun? will produce hits with immune, immunity, immunology, immunological, etc.
--A KEYWORD search is probably the quickest way to find an item. Just type a word or short phrase in the search box. Most words in the catalog record can
be searched using this field. You can also get a list of the archives or visual materials with a keyword search. Omit a, the, of, etc. with the keyword search.
--Search for a TITLE using the first 2 or 3 words, omitting 'the' or 'a' but including apostrophes or other punctuation.
--The AUTHOR search will display books by the main author only, not an editor or second author. If you are just looking for a name, try the Keyword search.
--A SUBJECT search will produce a list of items that use that word or words in the subject fields, describe the contents of the item. You can also find generic
subjects such as “diagnosis”, “analysis”, “therapy”, etc. with a keyword search.
The EXPERT search allows you to search up to 4 fields, including some not included in the simple search, such as standard numbers (ISBN, ISSN), book
series or call number. To search for a call number range, use the question mark to truncate; for example, WR 140? will produce all titles with this call number.
WO[space]? will produce all titles with these call letters.
The BRIEFCASE is used to store selected records. You can print out the list of titles, or with the Report link, the
catalog records for each title.
